Limitations:
Many of our standardised assessments are not designed to be administered over video call, restricting the comprehensive nature of our assessments. For a comprehensive assessment, clients would need to attend our service or a local provider.
A Summary assessment can be completed via video call and, for many clients, can be adequate to set relevant goals and initial therapy plans.
After joining the Spring Forward Family with an intake call and returning all paperwork, you will join a waitlist.
Following this, a 2 hour initial appointment will be booked to meet your family.
Who attends?
Any adult who is able to provide insight into your concerns and challenges, and the baby/child/teenager themselves.
What happens in the session?
We encourage families to log on 10mins before their first appointment to ensure any technical difficulties are addressed before the appointment.
You will meet the Spring Forward team member, and they will explain their process and expectations for the session. We typically aim to work youngest to oldest, freeing up young minds as quickly as we can.
This is followed by general observations and a detailed caregiver interview designed to help us understand what is causing the challenges your child faces and this impact this is having on your family.
After this, a report is provided and we aim to schedule a parent consult before starting any sessions or appointments.
What is a Parent Consult?
This is our opportunity to teach, clarify, and empower! You are the most knowledgeable on your child and we bring the knowledge of our speciality. This is the moment we collaborate to develop clear goals and plans by sharing our knowledge and problem solving together. It is a valuable step in therapy success!
