What do you do? (profession)

I’m a student counsellor and currently working as a OTA/receptionist.

Why??

I think it’s important to observe and interact with people in all different ways to get a more complete understanding of them.

What do you love most about your profession?

Forging intimate connections and helping people realise their strengths and potential.

What aspirations do you have for joining the team at SFFC?

I want to work in a collaborative environment, where the needs of a person can be met on many different levels.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? Why?

Telekinesis – because there’s so much you could do with it. I could completely fulfill my lazy nature.

What breed of dog best describes you? Why?

I’m probably something like a Dalmatian- completely spotty, but up for a laugh.

What colour best describes your personality? Why?

Purple- deep and lush. And wise. And royal. No-my personality are big bright pink and purple dots on black and silver lines. I’m strange and complex and kind of weird and wonderful.

Favourite quote, comment, or words of wisdom?

Nothing lasts forever. And more recently- you don’t have to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. You have to look after yourself before you can help others

If you could be a dinosaur, what would you be?

Stegosaurus; it was an aspiration of mine when I was a child to become one. I’m not sure why.

Favourite TV show or movie made for ‘children’?

Ferngully. Fairies, Robin Williams voicing a Bat and some great songs. Need I say more?

Most embarrassing (PG) story…

Asking the kids to do something, then trying to do it myself and failing spectacularly. I make sure I can do the things I ask the kids to do now.
