  • Experience in a multidisciplinary team as the senior physiotherapist in both acute hospital and post rehab settings from Jan 2015 until Jan 2022. I treated both adults and children with neurological disorders and injuries. I have worked in the neonatal ICU setting, at a home for orphaned children with special needs as well as special needs schools as the primary physiotherapist.

Personal Mission Statement:

I believe that as a physiotherapist I am called to use my skill set in order to help each child to unlock their highest potential.

I use a holistic approach that includes the entire family as a team and give support and advice to parents, family members as well as treatment to the individual. I am passionate about community; both the community created amongst Spring Forward staff and our families but also the community at large: our health care facilities, schools, places of worship etc. I believe that health is multifaceted and all areas of human well-being need to be facilitated. In short; I aim to provide a safe space that brings hope and healing to this community.

My Areas of Interest:

I am very passionate about neonates (prem babies) and early childhood intervention

If you were a dinosaur, what would you be?

Pterodacty.

Husky.

Musicals and animations.

What’s your favourite TV show?

Grey’s Anatomy.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

Koleka Putuma (South African poet).

What is a hidden skill you have?

Performing – poetry, dancing, singing.

Funny quote a child has said to you?

Maybe you’re the one who needs a physio (I was trying to demonstrate a balance activity and might have made it too challenging for myself!)

My Personal Interests:

Hobbies and Interests:

  • Reading, writing poetry and prose
  • Love the outdoors, especially large bodies of water
  • Learning how to play the guitar and keyboard

Memorable Moments of Impact:

  • After working with a client for a while where he would just scream in every session, we had a breakthrough: he participated in activities and he smiled at me for the first time.

  • A client who would not walk or stand that I had started seeing at  2 years old, came running in to the practice 6 months in to me seeing her
  • A 29 week old baby who, according to his brain scans, would never be able to suck or move started sucking his bottle and lifting his head after 2 months of in-patient treatment in the NICU.
